This marks a tipping point. \u201cTechnology has made the physical scale of Barnes &#038; Noble a liability.\u201d EBooks offer enhanced features such as video, audio and interactivity while eBook sellers such as Amazon.com don\u2019t need \u201cretail outlets, inventory, returns, printing or shipping costs.\u201d The age that began with Guttenberg is nearing an end.
