South China Morning Post (May 21)

2018/ 05/ 23 by jd in Global News

“The direction is clear, and the pace is picking up. For investors around the world, the biggest mistake would be to ignore China’s markets and their enormous potential now.” As China’s capital markets continue opening up, “investors—be they European hedge funds, pension funds in Australia, sovereign wealth funds from Asia, or ordinary savers around the world—will need to look at what might be a once-in-a-generation opportunity.” The June 1 inclusion of 200 of the mainland’s large-cap companies into the MSCI alone might “prompt well over half a trillion US dollars to pour into Chinese stocks in the next five to 10 years, as institutional investors adjust index-linked portfolios to MSCI’s change.”

Investment Week (November)

2017/ 11/ 30 by jd in Global News

The recent 0.25% increase “in interest rates announced by the Bank of England leaves us with no more clarity about the direction of monetary policy than we had before the micro-adjustment. Indeed, the increase raises rather more questions than it resolves.” The cut may simply reverse “the rather ill-judged post referendum cut,” Or it could be one off “nod to those worried about inflation becoming more embedded.” Or it could be “the start of a sequence that will see regular increases in rates along a path towards normalisation.”

These firms share top honors on the 2014 All-Japan Research Team, Institutional Investor’s 21st annual ranking of the country’s best sell-side analysts, by capturing 24 team positions each.”
