Artificial intelligence (AI) “is both far-reaching and fragile. Its long-term trajectory points toward redefining industries, reshaping work, and altering the balance of global power. In the near term, geopolitical rivalry combines with deregulatory policy and speculative capital, creating conditions that strongly resemble past bubbles. The lesson of history is not that bubbles render technologies worthless, but that they distort timing and expectations.”

Advanced economies will downgrade the importance of market access in China, and Global South nations will be forced to find other engines of development.” This will lead to “a new phase of geopolitical conditions, with the anchor assumption of a rising China and declining U.S. being retired. The implications of this will be far reaching and challenging to forecast.”

“China’s population has declined for the first time in six decades, with the national birth rate for 2022 falling to a record low and the nation’s deepening demographic crisis threatening far-reaching implications for economic growth.” The nation’s “overall population plummeted by 850,000 people – to 1.4118 billion in 2022” while “the national birth rate fell to a record low of 6.77 births for every 1,000 people in 2022… marking the lowest rate since records began in 1949.”
